Do Nabors get paid or are they volunteers?

Nabors do get paid, but are motivated primarily by a heart for helping others and a volunteer spirit. Nabors are independent contractors and get paid on an hourly basis depending on the market in which they live.

How many hours does a Nabor typically work in a week?

Being a Nabor is extremely flexible and they have full control over their schedule. Our average Nabor goes on just a few visits a week. This is a great fit for someone who is looking for flexibility but is not a good fit for someone counting on regular or consistent hours.

Are Nabors required to commit to a minimum number of hours?

No, Nabors only work when they want to work. We match Nabors on visits based on the availability they put in their Nabor App.

Do Nabors have to use the App?

Yes, Nabors must use the Naborforce App in order to communicate with Naborforce and match with visits. It is also where Nabors update their schedule, see their upcoming visits and view their earnings.

Does Naborforce reimburse for mileage?

Nabors are reimbursed for any mileage driven during a visit, but because Nabors are independent contractors, getting to and from visits is not reimbursed. Nabors are able to set their own preferences so they match to visits within a radius comfortable to them.

Do Nabors go on visits in their neighborhood?

Nabors have the ability to set a distance they are willing to drive to get to a visit. So technically yes, you could be visiting your own neighbors!

Do Nabors need their own car and do they have to drive?

Yes. At Naborforce our services include taking clients to appointments and running errands. All Nabors should be able to go on any type of visit including those requiring transportation. Naborforce also requires a Nabor’s car to be less than 15 years old.

Are Nabors required to have a college degree?

It is not mandatory to have a college degree to be a Nabor. We do not provide any services that require specialized education, training or certification. Our primary goal is to seek people that are aligned with our mission.

Why do Nabor Applicants have to pay for the background check fee?

Naborforce takes our commitment to safety very seriously and as such runs a background check and motor vehicle screen on every Nabor. The fee is used to partially offset the cost of the screening, and demonstrates the applicant is committed to the process. The background check fee is not requested until after the interview, at which time a provisional offer is made.

How does the application process work?

The process starts with an online application. Once your application is approved, you will be invited to schedule an interview. If you are moved to the next stage you will be asked to pay the background screen fee and supply information for a criminal background check and a DMV screen.  Once the background screen is clear, there are a few more short steps including a review of the Naborforce Way (our Nabor guidelines) and successful completion of a quiz on its content. The process is very easy and we walk you through it - just check your emails.

How long does the application process take?

The application process is fairly quick, however it will primarily depend on how quickly your background check is returned by Checkr - the service we use to run the checks. You can check the status of your background check at any time on the link provided by Checkr.

What kind of things does a Nabor do?

At Naborforce we provide a range of supportive services designed to help our clients maintain their independence and stay connected. Our services include companionship, help around the home, meal preparation, grocery shopping and possibly assistance with special projects such as organizing a closet. We also offer accompanied transportation to appointments, run errands, and accompany clients to community events. Most importantly, Nabors foster social engagement and friendship, delivering peace of mind to both our clients and their families. Essentially, we offer the kind of help you would provide to a good neighbor.

Are there any activities Nabors are prohibited from doing?

Nabors are not allowed to do any type of personal care. This includes but is not limited to dressing, bathing, feeding, toileting, wound care, medication administration, safe transfers and grooming.

What are you looking for in a Nabor?

Nabors are kind-hearted people that are seeking connection and have a heart for helping others. They are dependable, responsible and willing to roll up their sleeves and help in any way that they can. A good Nabor is someone who is willing to listen and be with someone in the moment.

Who are Naborforce’s clients?

Naborforce’s clients are older adults who may need an occasional friendly helping hand along with some companionship. While the majority live in their homes, we also serve clients that live in Senior Living Communities.
